HISTORY

The birth of the Villa Benzi complex has its origins in the mid-1500s, when the Girardi's Venetian family decided to invest their capital, result of trade operations, in a farm in Caerano "no less magnificent than what they had in Venice, with a property of a hundred fields all surrounded by walls" and in the building of characteristic farmhouses including "Col delle Rane".

THE FAMILY

Our family has always worked the red fields of Montelletto Hill along what is now the "Asolo Prosecco" wine road. Guido, the founder, was a peasant son of peasants and lived in the farmhouse called "Col delle Rane" with his five sons devoting himself to raising silkworms and cattle. After twenty years those children became men and Elso, the third one, decided to take over the farm, transforming it and starting with passion the culture of the grapes. Rosanna, his wife, took care of the accommodation. Once grown, their sons Domenico and Matteo, accepted the challenge and bringing some innovations, continue every day with the same dedication and conviction on the path started many decades earlier.
